Manson Apple Blossom Festival Parade
and dancers…oh my!
The Manson Apple Blossom Festival came to town a few weeks ago. It seems everyone came out for the annual kickoff parade to celebrate the beginning of the apple producing season here in Lake Chelan. We joined the many families who’d lined the main road leading into town. The kids sat curbside, awaiting the start of the parade and the promise of sugary treats being thrown from various floats.
The parade was fun – one of the best small town parades I’ve been to in a while. There was so much to see throughout the procession.
High school marching bands from surrounding areas kept us entertained all parade-long.
Vaqueros on horseback trotted through the street. Clippity clippity clop.
Itty bitty parade participants waved and blew kisses at spectators.
The mariachi dancers twirled their way along the parade route, colorful skirts unfurled and kicked up in time with the music.
Classic cars cruised by.
The Seattle Cossacks Motorcycle Stunt and Drill Team wowed us with their amazing stunts.
And a dance troupe of kids clothed in 80′s wear shut the whole parade down, dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”.
We had such a great time at the Manson Apple Blossom Festival Parade. What a great way to kickoff the start of apple producing season!
