Pink/Home {Nurture Photography Challenge}

I’m still head-over-heels in love with beautiful Lake Chelan. My first spring here in the Pacific Northwest has been glorious.

Nurture Photography Challenge

My family and I are still putting down roots, getting to know our community, and settling in here in our new home. We might’ve traded our large house in the Missouri countryside for a small home in a little lakeside community in Washington, but the core of our home life hasn’t changed.

We’ve no lavish art work, fancy furniture, or pricey little knickknacks. We’ve got toys strewn across the living room floor, and little hand prints on the walls instead.

In our home you’ll hear the raucous laughter of teenagers, find a curious toddler climbing and fumbling around for a snack,

a dog waiting patiently for her favorite kids to come home from school,

a little girl sitting on the kitchen counter, animatedly reading her latest story while another plays on the bathroom floor.

But our home is filled with so much more – friendship, laughter,

a bit of sibling rivalry from time to time. And love.

Nurture Photography Challenge

Always love.

I'm so thrilled you love your new home. Do you remember how nervous you were to move there on our car ride in Cali? Everything always works out in the end, right? :) Pictures are GORGEOUS!!!

Lovely pictures of your family - my favorites are the one taken in the kitchen high chair with your daughter & Pringles crips, the one of you & your little daughter, and the ones with your daughtes in the bathroom floor & reading - so cozy!

Hugs my friend. Knowing that we have gone through this similar life changing event to similar places all at the same time- has been very comforting. Thinking of you-

I feel the same way, Gina! Looks like you're enjoying your new home too! I've been thinking about you and your mom a lot lately. Hope you're doing well!

Absolutely beautiful pictures! You have such a beautiful family. I hate that I haven't kept up with the photography challenge but things have been extremely busy lately.

    • by Kristi on May 10, 2013  10:09 am Reply

I totally understand! I know how busy it gets. Heck, if I weren't one of the hosts I'd probably take a break too. Don't worry, though. We'll be back in the summer and you can jump back in if you have time. :)

Love the picture you've painted of home - both with words and photos. Home, when it's just that good...well, there's nothing as powerful and wonderful!!

I love your photos, as always, but I love your words even more. What makes a home? Not fancy furniture and extravagant things -- but love and laughter and the pitter-patter of little feet and yes, hand prints on the walls! :) Really enjoyed this prompt.

You have such a beautiful family, Kristi! And such wonderful images - totally evoking that sense of home w/ that pink incorporated into it. Completely love this!

Lake Chelan sounds like a very cool place, by the way. I have to look it up online now.

Lovely photos of your family. Moving to a new place always makes me long for my old one. But I'm sure you will learn to love this new place just as much or maybe more! Sorry I'm late to the prompt this week. Maybe I'll be on time this Friday! (maybe) Heh.
