Creative Photo Project Ideas: People Of Photo Project
Looking for creative photo project ideas to inspire you throughout the year? Photo projects that encourage growth, push you to think outside of the box and step out of your comfort zone? Yeah, me too.
Throughout the month of January, I’m featuring a few photography projects to inspire you to capture your life in a whole new way.
Some photo projects are created out of a desire to capture a photo each day for an entire year. Some revolve around crossing items off a photography bucket list.
And some photo projects are simply inspired by the beauty of everyday ordinary people on the street.
People Of Photo Project
“We sometimes encounter people, even perfect strangers, who begin to interest us at first sight, somehow suddenly, all at once, before a word has been spoken.” – Fyodor Dostoevsky
The People Of Photography Project is about discovering and capturing the beauty of the human story. It’s about making a connection with total strangers, sharing in their personal stories and weaving those brief encounters into the fabric of our lives.
It’s also a collaborative effort between myself and my talented friend, Amanda of Parenting BY Dummies.
Inspired by the beauty of the people we photographed one afternoon on the streets of Charlotte, North Carolina, we came up with the concept of photographing the People Of every city we visited.
For me and Amanda, the People Of Photo Project is an awesome-filled labor of love – an intimate, honest and beautiful collection of street photography and lifestyle portraits. Our subjects? Everyday ordinary people, each perfectly beautiful in their own way.

And more.
The People Of Photo Project has proven to be an awesome fun-filled photography adventure. But as Amanda and I continue to photograph people in cities across the country, we’re learning that it’s so much more.
This journey to photograph the people we meet is a life changing discovery of the beauty of the human story.
Amanda and I are inspired by the friendly people we’ve met throughout our travels. What inspires your photography?
