Thrift Store Find: Minty Green Dream or Nightmare?
Once upon a time, I used to love hunting for old furniture in thrift shops. I got so much pleasure out of giving neglected, tossed aside chairs, tables and ottomans a facelift. Sanding, reupholstering and scraping old paint; turning an old ugly piece into something beautiful and new.
I visited a local thrift store last week and walked away with a couple of great finds, including a comfy old chair that only set me back $30.
I’m in the market for a new-to-me desk and chair and a super comfy seat to throw in the corner of my new little office space. I’m going with an ivory palette that could use a pastel pop of color and I think the minty green chair I found might work perfectly.
I’m planning on adding an accent pillow, but I have no plans to reupholster the chair. As a matter of fact, I kind of like it as is.
Unfortunately, my husband and older children don’t agree. Translation: They think the “ugly chair” should be reupholstered. Like, yesterday.
So now I’m turning to you, dear blog readers. I’d love to know what you think.
Is my thrift store find a minty green dream or a nightmare?

The upholstery doesn’t really bother me, but something about it is “grandma-ish”. (sorry) I guess in the right room with an accent pillow like you plan, it might fly though.
