All Good Things Come to an End

Goodbye, family.

Goodbye, friends.

Goodbye, breathtaking sunsets.

Goodbye, endless feasts.

Goodbye, lazy days in the sun.

Goodbye, summer of fun.

Goodbye, Hawaii.

Awww!!!! If I was you, I'd hate to leave that beauty and return home to the midwest. That shot of them in the pool made me smile. Such fun, carefree memories!

It was definitely hard to leave! We had an amazing summer and I hated for it to come to an end, but the kids definitely need to get back to school. :) Hope you're doing well, Annie!

Oh man, it must be SO hard to leave such a beautiful place full of friends. At least you're coming back to a beautiful time of year - the end of summer/early fall is the best time of year (in my humble opinion!)

Oh I looooooove autumn! I can't wait for the leaves to start changing. It's one of the things I love about *not* living in Hawaii, though being apart from family and friends is tough.

I bet that must have been hard to leave, you were there for quite a while! Glad you and the kids had a wonderful time. Do you think you'll come to BlogHer in Chicago?

    • by Kristi on August 14, 2012  11:27 pm Reply

It was really hard to say goodbye. We cried our way through the airport and my poor parents and everyone else cried too. It always kills me to see my parents cry. :(

BlogHer... Yes! I'm going to plan on it, for sure. I don't have any travel plans next summer and I'm dying to go to BlogHer and Chicago. I'll let you know as it gets closer.

It's so hard to say goodbye, but I"m happy to say goodbye to summer! Just noticed you're living in a small town in MO. I just moved from KC, MO to a small town in IA. That was hard to say goodbye, there isn't anything remotely related to KC around here.

    • by Kristi on August 14, 2012  11:55 pm Reply

Awww, moving is so tough! :( I hope you're able to settle in soon, make some new friends and get to know the area a little better. Moving to a small town (population 110, no kidding!) was a huge adjustment, but two years later and we're managing just fine. It's taken a lot of getting used to, though. lol Best of luck to you, Valerie!

Must be so hard coming home in some ways! We head home from my mom's tomorrow too :-( Sad to leave her, but I've missed Mark too.

Not sure if we follow each other on Instagram. I'm MarfMom, of course. lol

    • by Kristi on August 14, 2012  11:40 pm Reply

I don't think we follow each other yet on Instagram. What a shame! I'll go fix that in a minute! And yes, the return home is bittersweet. I missed my husband and our home and just being in our own space, but I miss my family and friends so much. I wish I could take the best of both places and smush them into one happy ever after home. :) Safe travels to you tomorrow, Maya!

I've loved seeing all of your pictures from Hawaii this summer. Too bad it has to come to an end--but you have so many great photos to remember it all. :)

I really love that last image. It seems to fit with the goodbye theme so well. It just seems to sum up that "end of the day when you are holiday feeling" so perfectly.
