Yellow {Shades of Autumn Photo Challenge} - Live and Love...Out Loud

Yellow {Shades of Autumn Photo Challenge}

The sun is shining. The air is crisp. And my little corner of small town Missouri is drenched in shades of autumn – red, purple, brown, orange and yellow.

Yellow, glorious yellow…

Up high…

Down low…

Lurking in the shadows…

Scattered among the wildflowers meandering through back country roads…

Yellow. Glorious Yellow.

Small town Missouri continues to provide me with tons of photographic inspiration. Everywhere I turn, there’s beauty to be found. And following every new discovery, the click of my shutter button.

Part of the fun in photographing the beauty around me is in getting the photos I’ve taken onto my computer and into my photo editing program. For me, the editing process is a ton of fun. I find that in editing my photos, I discover bits and pieces of beauty just waiting to be unveiled and brought to life.

If you enjoy editing photos as much as I do, I’d love for you to join me in the Edit Me Challenge on Wednesday, October 19th. Hosts, Branson and Kathryn, have given the Edit Me Challenge a bit of a spruce up in addition to a new home. They’ve also invited me to be a judge next week, which means participants will be editing one of my photos. I can’t wait to get in on the fun! I hope you’ll stop by and join us.

…………………….

I’m teaming up with the lovely and talented Rebecca of Bumbles and Light and Alicia of Project Alicia for the Shades of Autumn Photo Challenge – a colorfully inspiring autumn photography challenge aimed at capturing the beautiful shades of autumn.

Just a few details:

All are welcome regardless of experience, time commitment and whether or not you’re experiencing fall at the moment.

Simply share your favorite images inspired by the autumn shade of the week each Friday and grab our button while you’re at it.

The linky will remain open from 12:01am CST Friday – 11:59pm CST Wednesday. Link directly to your Shades of Autumn blog post or Flickr photo. Feel free to share your photos in our Shades of Autumn Flickr Group and Shades of Autumn Pinterest Board as well.

We’ll select our favorite photos of the week and share them with you at Bumbles & LightProject Alicia and Live and Love Out Loud the following Thursday.

Next week’s theme will be orange. For a complete list of upcoming themes, head on over to the Shades of Autumn Photo Challenge page.

Hi lovely host ladies! I got such enthusiastic responses to my green photos last week, I couldn’t wait to link up again (and the time zone means I’m first here – how fabulous!) Yellow was tricky but once I started looking it popped up all over the place…

I’m so glad that you got such great feedback. Your photos were lovely! Finding the different colors around us is a bit tricky at first, but you’re right…all of a sudden, there’s yellow EVERYWHERE! lol Thanks for joining us again. I’ll stop by sometime this weekend to see your yellow photos. Have a great day.

Love your photographs. Would you believe I had a hard time with the yellow in my part of Missouri? Your yellows are so deep and intense. Love the yellow in the shadows.

KristiTwitter: TweetingMama (4351 comments)

Thanks Daenel! Did you really have a hard time in your part of Missouri? Well darn, you should’ve come to my part. ;) Can’t wait to see your shots. I’ll stop by sometime this weekend. Have a great day! :)

Couldn’t agree more about the editing part. I often troll through photos just to see if there is something that has been overlooked so I can doll it up. You certainly have done a wonderful job finding yellow in your neck of the woods. Beautiful pics!

If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that you absolutely love the editing process. I still remember you talking about how much you love the creativity involved during one of our phone conversations. I could hear your excitement through the phone. It was infectious. :)

Lovely shots of yellow.. it’s a pity that I’m living in the tropics or I’ll be able to experience so much more colour in nature.

Dominique, there’s still tons of color to be found in the tropics. Feel free to join us anyway. Your photos don’t have to be fall-like, just inspired by the fall color of the week. :) Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great weekend.

Romantic. Great word to describe it. Can you just imagine yourself walking through the wildflowers, arms outstretched and running along the top of the flower buds? Romantic, indeed. :) Thanks for stopping by. I’ll be sure to take a look at your shots this weekend. Have a great day. :)

KristiTwitter: TweetingMama (4351 comments)

Thank you so much, Lauri. I love that shot too. I might’ve seen sun spots after taking the photo, but it was well worth the irreversible damage to my eyes. lol Kidding, of course. (Probably not a funny joke for someone with a blind cousin to say, huh?) I can’t wait to stop by your place this weekend to take a look at your goldenrod shots. :) Have a great day!

SatakieliTwitter: satakieli (58 comments)

KristiTwitter: TweetingMama (4351 comments)

Thanks, Rebecca. I squealed when I saw the yellow bug crawl up from under one of the buds. lol I had a few other shots with an orange bug that settled a few buds away from the yellow bug as well, but it was so windy and that shot just wasn’t up to par so I decided not to share it. :( I’m having so much fun hosting this challenge with you and Alicia. Can’t wait to see everyone’s shots each week!
