Crazy Days of Summer Photo Challenge Week Seven: Critters

Insects are important to our ecosystem. They pollinate blossoms, control pests and aerate and fertilize soil with the nutrients from their droppings.

I could care less.

Creepy crawly critters creep me out and I’m convinced that they’re out to get me!

Big critters. Little critters. All sorts of creepy crawly critters.

Critters that climb.

lol. You are too funny. That’s a great tongue twister too. I went easy on ya. Don’t be too scared. Left out the scary spiders just for you!

Haha! You are too sweet, Lish. :)

These are excellent captures, even if they are of creepy crawly things! Love the moth and the critter on the pink flower!

Kristi (3460 comments) twitter: @TweetingMama

Thanks Cedar! I’m sorry for responding to your comment so late. I’ve been so busy lately. :(

Annie @ Mama Dweeb (56 comments) twitter: @MamaDweeb

This will be a really fun week to go see! You managed to make the bugs look beautiful! It helps that you took photos of them near the most lovely flowers :)

Kristi (3460 comments) twitter: @TweetingMama

Haha! Thanks. After looking through all of the critter photos that linked up, I’m thoroughly disgusted. Critters creep me out!

Run DMT (113 comments) twitter: @denisermt

Those are some gorgeous photos of critters that creep you out! lol You just reminded me that I took a photo of a gorgeous moth the other day. Hard to believe a moth could be gorgeous, but this one was yellow and purple. Very pretty! I’ll need to post that and link up again.

Kristi (3460 comments) twitter: @TweetingMama

Eek! Moths! You’re right though, some of them are really pretty. I just wish they’d stop dive-bombing my hair. ;)

Dina @ 4 Lettre Words (58 comments)

Such wonderful shots, Kristi! Love that little froggy.

Kristi (3460 comments) twitter: @TweetingMama

Wasn’t he cute? Cute from a distance of course… ;)

Jane @ One Photo (2 comments)

Great critter shots!

Kristi (3460 comments) twitter: @TweetingMama

Thank you so much, Jane! :)

Ashley Sisk (77 comments)

You really found a lot of critters! I love the first one.

Kristi (3460 comments) twitter: @TweetingMama

Thanks Ashley! Where’d you find that beautiful snail shell? I haven’t found one of those since I was a kid. :(

Leslie Estes (10 comments)

I really liked your last shot of the froggy!! and your tongue twister . . . too funny!!

ha
you did better than me… i did ONE critter and he stayed in a bottle :)

Kristi (3460 comments) twitter: @TweetingMama

Hey, I don’t blame you. Those suckers can jump and they’re really fast! lol

liz (155 comments)

The longer the legs a bug or spider has, the grosser it is.

Kristi (3460 comments) twitter: @TweetingMama

I totally agree, Liz.

Gina (16 comments) twitter: @firefam5

Oh yeah- they totally creep me out too. My son caught a wind scorpion the other day- There was NO WAY I was going near it to get a photo :)

Kristi (3460 comments) twitter: @TweetingMama

What in the world is a wind scorpion and is it deadly? Double eek!!!

Barb (12 comments)

Love your post! all your critters are amazing! I love your hummingbird moth – I think they are fascinating!

Kristi (3460 comments) twitter: @TweetingMama

Hummingbird moths are pretty fascinating, but I can’t get past the fact that it’s a moth. For some reason, moths love dive-bombing my hair. lol

The Drama Mama (145 comments) twitter: @writesidemama

I love the hummingbird moth too!! I’ve never seen one before. It’s gorgeous!

Kristi (3460 comments) twitter: @TweetingMama

Thanks girl! They kinda freaked me out. Moths and I don’t get along.

DaenelT (36 comments) twitter: @DaenelT

Great photos, especially the first one: the little bug with big legs! :-)

Kristi (3460 comments) twitter: @TweetingMama

If you know what kind of bug it is, I’d love to know! :)

Dumb Mom (55 comments) twitter: @thenagainphoto

Yeah for summer. Boo for anything with more than 4 legs. Matter of fact, double boo! Great photos as always and thanks for sharing one of your “baby” with me today!

Kristi (3460 comments) twitter: @TweetingMama

Double boo is right! I hate bugs! But dudes I can deal with. ;) Thanks again for featuring my “baby’s” photo today. I’m so glad that he’s over the give-mom-bugs stage. ;)

The City Boy (2 comments) twitter: @wes_holland
