Not My Husband! Monday – Men Say Stupid Stuff Sometimes

This week’s edition of Not Me My Husband! Monday is brought to you by my husband George. While he is definitely a wonderful man, he’s still just that… a man. What I’m trying to say is he’s great, but like most men he says the stupidest things sometimes! Let’s get this started…

men say stupid stuff sometimes, not my husband, not my husband monday, not me monday, men say stupid things,

My husband has NOT been living with MSSSS (Men Say Stupid Stuff Sometimes) for over 30 years.

MSSSS is NOT a debilitating, untreatable disease and it’s definitely NOT a laughing matter. Admit it, your husband has it too!

My MSSSS-challenged husband did NOT call me “a big fat pain in my butt” in jest last week.

I did NOT immediately zero-in on the word fatand I certainly did NOT paint him as a villian.

I would NEVER do such a thing and he’d NEVER call me fat. Ever. Seriously.

My hubby did NOT compare me to Princess Fiona the other night, while we watched Shrek with our kids. Nope.

He did NOT say, “Honey, I’m Shrek and you’re Princess Fiona. She used to be a beautiful princess, but turned into a big, green ogre.” (Oh yes, he did! Did I mention that he suffers from MSSSS?)

I did NOT flip out and once again accuse him of calling me “fat” even though I knew that he was just trying to create a sweet, romantic moment (unsuccessfully, of course) despite his MSSSS.

And by the way, while we were dating, my husband did NOT give me fair warning that as a man he’d probably say stupid things from time to time.

And no, I did NOT totally disregard his little disclaimer.

I was NOT blinded by puppy love.

And no, I am NOT completely, unequivocally, undeniably in love with this man.

LOL!! I am so glad that I am not the only one that has a husband that suffers from this. Pregnancy only makes it worse I believe as he says stuff and then immediately realizes that perhaps he has said the wrong thing. Is there a cure?

Hi @Beth,
First of all, congratulations on the new baby. Have a happy delivery! Second, I’m sorry to tell you this… there’s no cure for MSSSS. Unfortunately, it’s a permanent condition. lol

LOL. I love hearing everything that your Hubs is NOT. What a great post. Since my mother in law has started reading my blog, I may have to institute this strategy.

@Tina Lane,
Great idea Tina, but maybe it’ll be a good idea if she really knew what type of shenanigans her son has been up to! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. :)

HA! Reminds me of a post I did awhile back…My husband said to me something like, “You know that saying, “If the barn needs painting? Well, yesterday, your barn had too much paint.” lol. Thanks for the laugh!

Omigosh! That was hilarious. My husband suffers from the same disease. Glad to know he is not alone and so happy to hear that MOST OF THE TIME it is not fatal. Happy Monday!

@Suzi,
I’m so sorry to hear that your husband is afflicted with MSSSS as well. Maybe we should encourage our men to join a support group. :)
